Summer 2021: Wrigley Field 2.0

So nice, I had to do it twice. After attending my first game, a night game, I figured I'd better get the full experience and scored a face value ticket for the afternoon game on June 11, 2021 against the St. Louis Cardinals. This was the first Post-COVID game that allowed for a full capacity crowd at Wrigley Field. To be honest, this fact was initially lost on me, having been fully vaccinated since April, COVID has become an afterthought for me as it will be for so many more very soon.

The impact and significance of this game however, was not lost on me when I walked up to the stadium. There was a different buzz, an enhanced sense of joy and celebration and from the moment I entered the stadium, it was palpable. I documented the day in pictures but also told the story via video (posted below, a short film), that hits on all the highlights from the day. I didn't set out to make this short film but going through the material I captured thought "why not?" although I'm not, nor do I pretended to be even an "amateur" film maker but it was fun. From the most amazing rendition of the National Anthem by John Vincent to Bill Murray and Justin Fields making surprise appearances and Anthony Rizzo's epic 14-pitch at bat, it will be a day I will remember for a long time!
